I made this for a friend's birthday.  I got the idea and most of the patterns from the blog Peachcake Knits.  I made up the orange and the cherries myself, and did a few alterations to the pear.

I think the banana looks like he's either being arrested or exposed.

The pear is my favorite right now because she's so pretty, if a pear could be described as pretty...

I call this Deadpan Orange.

The apple was the first fruit I made.  Before I put the stem and leaf on her, I fluctuated between calling her a roma tomato and an apple.  The cat in the background is my Pam, looking much more lucid in the photo than she does in real life.

I really like the lemon pattern.  If you haven't tried knitting fruit, I suggest you give it a shot.  I think it's somehow very therapeutic.  You don't even have to put faces on them, but I think it's more fun.

(I subsequently changed the faces of the two cherries, as I wasn't satisfied with them, but I didn't get a picture before I gave it to my friend.)

The apple is my favorite! The expression is just so sweet, hehe. And the banana being "exposed" made me crack up. Great job; I bet your friend loved them!
