I knocked out 4 of these babies in a couple of hours for my DS, DD, niece and nephew.  They are made from one bath towel and one hand towel.  Love these for the beach because they can change under them with privacy!  Pockets were included at the insistence of my 5yo niece - kids love pockets!  BTW - do you know how hard it is to get a 5yo, two 3 yos and a 1yo to stand still for a photo at the same time?

P.S. - yes tht is a whisk in one of the boys' hands - I'm not sure why we ever buy toys when there are kitchen implements to be had!

Okay, well that's just the most adorable thing since puppies and kittens.  It's also a great idea!  They look awesome.

those are great!  If I ever went to the beach, I might make some, haha.  And I agree with you on the 'why do we ever buy toys' thing.  My daughter prefers to play with rocks.  Yeah.  Rocks.

These are so cute!
When I was a wee one I was jealous of my friend who has something like this.
The kid also has good taste in whisks. That was my favorite kind.
Good job!
Is terry cloth hard to sew? (I think that's what towels are made of?)

I've been wanting to make something like this to accomidate my 4 yr old or my one year old. I've never seen one with a front and back. Just the towl with a hand towl hood sewn on. Did you use a pattern? Is it made from 1 large towel or 2?
