Yay! I finally got to cross another item off my to-do list! I made this skirt last night - it only took a couple of hours. I used an existing skirt as a template, with a few modifications... It's made from a piece of curtain fabric I found in the remnant bin in a local fabric shop, and the hem is finished with brown bias tape. This is a small town, so I bet someone will see me wearing it and think "Hey, I've got curtains like that!"... Nevermind, I'll be a walking curtain - I don't mind.

Sorry for the rubbish "in the mirror" photo. It's kinda hard to take a pic of yourself when your tripod is still buried under a whole mountain of boxes! Have you noticed DS' tractor seems to always be in the background too?

I've got another couple of fabrics that I think would make nice skirts, so I might make another later in the week. Infact, now I know the pattern is a good fit it will be even faster next time, so I might even make two. One has a large tulip print on it, in the same sort of autumny colours as this one - I'll finish that one with mustard yellow bias tape I think...

I also think I need to have a look in the shops to find some new tops to go with my new skirts...

Cute! are the stripes on the skirt stitched, or did it come that way?
