Following the trend of slouchy hats/ large berets, I decided to crochet one for my friend for her birthday instead of buying the ones at Urban for $30+! I went out and bought yarn (1 skein was only $2!) and a needle yesterday and taught myself how to crochet from the lovely videos and advice given on this forum :] I basically followed a video of a lady crocheting a rasta cap (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-R7athkDDs) only I subtracted some rounds and the popcorn stitch and kind of winged it when I got to the band of the beret. Overall this was a great first project :]

This is sooo cute!  Can you please tell what yarn was used?? Thanks!

I believe in luck: how else can you explain the success of those you don't like?

this is great. i am going to sit down tomorrow and learn how to crochet. any more info about this project would be great..(e.g. size hook, how many skeins, lion brand yarn?)

p.s. i want bangs again!

& it's so sad that i have like, a huge stash of yarn, i've been planning to learn for quite some time. in fact, it was last years resolution.  Shocked

you did a wonderful job.
