hey as far as buttons go, there is a place in Vancouver BC (where i live) called button button ant it is a small store dedicated to buttons, they have the size of buttons that you are looking for!
she doesn't have a website, but here is the info

422 West Cordova St
Vancouver BC V6B 4K2
Tel: (604) 687-0067
Email: buttonbutton@look.ca
if you emailed her and if she had some buttons that you were looking for, get them put on hold and i could pick them up and send them to you,at cost!!

so theres a thought!

So hey I know this thread is 9 years old (lol) but I thought I'd throw this out there since I notice you live in Chicago (I lived there prior to moving away temporarily for grad school, but I plan on coming back). There is a button/notions store called Soutache and it is awesome. Like seriously awesome, and if you're a designer/fiber artist like me, you need to know about it.
Its at 2130 N Damen Ave

I'm sure you've been to Vogue. The one in Evanston is my favorite. Favorite fabric store, period. (never shopped in NYC or LA fabric stores... but still.)
