This is the oven mitt project from Lotta Jansdotter's "Simple Sewing."  It's the first thing I've made from the book.  I really like this book so I'm sure I'll be making more. 

Oooh... curvey lines. 



And the whole shebang



The lining is the same as the trim at the cuff.  I didn't do a very good job at the topstitching.  It was lazyness.  I didn't want to take the time to handsew it on so I crammed the cuff over the end of my sewing maching and very tightly sewed in the round.

Your mitt is adorable.  I love the fabrics choices you made.  The cuff seems longer than usual? Love the quilted look.

I love that!  You used such cheery fabric for a boring necessity Smiley

One question - what did you use in the mitt to protect your hand from the heat?  I'm planning on making one and didn't know if regular quilt batting would do the job.
