I really like this idea, but I don't think that I will be able to do it.  I am getting married in late October, and I will be too stressed out to even think let alone craft stuff.  But, maybe next time. Smiley

I'm way interested, need to stash bust like crazy! Cheesy

So does having the word "Christmas" in it imply that you'll get spoiled like it's Christmas or that the crafted items need to pertain to Christmas? Or maybe both if you choose? Just wanna clarify Smiley

I also like the idea of a minimum point system because someone could send you like, a pillow and that would take up the whole box by itself Cheesy

I think the idea of both works, either to help out with Christmas decor or gifts for you or family and friends. A lot would have to do with religion too, we can't discriminate.

I was thinking either would be cool. I personally would want to craft gifts. I know people like me who like to sew have a whole long 4 page list of things we are going to make for people for Christmas and lord knows I'm only gonna get half done so I would love to receive gifts I could give out and start marking people off my list. And we'll be sending on December 1st so you could send christmas decorations and they'd have almost a month to display them. I'll get everything ready and open up sign ups around Sept 10th.

I was thinking more along the line of gifts and maybe an extra little decoration but that would be up to the sender. Ideally I'd love to get 3-4 things I could use as gifts.

I was thinking of making up a few pr of crocheted ballet slippers-they take about 2 hrs total so how many points would something like that be worth? I usually add some ribbon and buttons depending on the person's tastes.

Here are a few things I was thinking would work great in a swap like this:
scrabble tile pendants
wallets
wristlet
homemade journal
jewelry
pin cushion
scarves
hats
homemade soaps/body stuff
stuffies
stamped cards

I'd be wishing for gifts too.  I'd love to get some stocking stuffers for my kiddo, husband, and some ladies I know.  I know tons of ladies who would love a cosmetic pouch, or hats like these:

Oh, and if anybody is also looking to get some christmas gifts, theres one day left to sign up for the Santa's Little Helper Swap:

Gotcha Smiley Same here on the crafted gifts. The Santa's Helper and Fill-A-Box Swaps are all tempting but I'm intimidated by them for some reason. It's looking like this swap would be a nice combination of both, with a little less pressure.

Someone mentioned religion...maybe "Christmas" could be changed to "Holiday"?

i wouldnt mind having a religious partner, as long as they realize i am not, and dont craft angels and what not

i forget x-mas is a religious holiday all the time, i heart commercialism (which is weird, cos i make stuff lol)

it would be fun to have a Jewish partner, i like theology, so i know a little about judaism (not as much as other faiths im afraid) and it would be fun to expand that knowledge

all in all though, i PREFER a fellow atheist, or even someone who is agnostic

okay by christmas I don't mean religious things. I mean if you want to create christmas decorations like snow man table runner or cute ornaments or personalized stockings or what not that's cool or you can craft a box full of christmas presents or stocking stuffers. I guess I'm just sheltered. I thought everyone put up a tree at christmas time and opened presents on christmas day whether they believe what the day is about or not. Let's not make this too literal or blow it out of proportion. If you like the idea, feel free to join, if it bothers you then don't. If you are religious and don't mind getting a crocheted amigurumi manger set or a baby jesus doll for your toddler then let your partner know. Let's just make sure it's as laid back as it can get. Me personally, I would love to use stuff from my stash to make things like:
hair pretties
reusable shopping bags
scarves/hats
maybe an apron/placemats/something cute for the kitchen
makeup bags
sewing bowls to keep your sewing area neat
maybe some cute ornaments
crocheted owl sleep mask
pincushions
purses/totes

list goes on and on. I mean most of us have a pretty long christmas list so whatever we get we could probably select someone on our list we'd love to give the item to.
