Flat rate box of Christmas surprises?!

How does a flat rate box or flat rate envelope of smalls or wisty surprises sound? Like a jar of whimseys but bigger version. I love the jar of whimseys swap but I have such small children I'm scared they'll get in my jar and try to put things in their mouth. So we could do a box full of small surprises like crocheted stuffies, reusable shopping bags, easy tote bags, hats, scarves (winter's coming up), crocheted scrubbies or dishcloths, emrboidered tea towels, small art pieces like ATC's or small wall hangings. We could do half bought and half crafted or all crafted. I would really like it if it was a surprise like person A gets person B, person B gets person C, etc and that way it's a total surprise the whole swap until you get your package. But yet it would be low key because we would be able to make what we wanted to, what we are good at, or from what we have in our stash and they would all be relatively small items and be able to use their questionare, profile page and wist as simple guidelines or ideas.

I've never gotten into the jar of whimsies thing but your idea sounds like more fun (more stuff yay!) and a helluva lot more useful!

Basically a flat rate box of all small (point wise) crafts. I can dig it.

ooo...this sounds fun! I love to make soaps but it can get heavy so using a flat rate box would be perfect. Of course, I wouldn't fill it with soap
It would also be perfect before Christmas because I could use some of the items for gifts or stocking stuffers-my kids love the little crocheted/knitted animals but all I can make are mice  So getting a few of these would be great for gifts.

I'll definitely be watching this one. October/November time frame would be perfect for me if I knew in advance-that way I wouldn't sign up for more than 1 other swap so I could really focus on this.

Oh, and some people might think this is too much like the current Fill-A-Box swaps. Whoever does the organizing should come up with a snazzy title that suggests that you're getting a box of little craftED things instead of just supplies.

I like this too!  I do get a little nervous about swaps with no specific set amount of items...could we set a minimum amount?  like 10 things?  (or 15, or 20...I just don't know what everyone is thinking)  Just so people know it will be fair.  People can always spoil, too.

I'd totally love to get stocking stuffers!

We could do a set amount. I just figured you are bound to fit 6-10 points in there at least so it wold be a nice little package but still low key. A wish list would be cool but I think the more that it's up to the person crafting what goes in the box the better. That way it's kinda stash busting too. Maybe your partner could say "I'd like stocking stuffers for the kids in my family" and we could do a box full of kid themed items based on what we have in our stash. Or something similar. I just like low key, low stress and STASH BUSTING!
