Not sure what to call these, I've been told they are creepy ...

Thanks for looking ...

Not seeing the creepy aspect myself.  The first picture reminded me of Golden Compass (Lyra and her monkey), though the books don't depict her at that age at all.

Thanks for the positive feedback. I started becoming paranoid about showing some of my art because I used to get really bad reactions to it ... these are kind of old I didn't know what to say about them I just wanted to know what people thought. I think I did them in late 2006/ early 2007.

I actually had to look up the Golden Compass ... I've seen the poster but it came out since I've been in Japan so I didn't know what the film was called & I don't really know anything about it.

I'm quietly giggling, but thank you ... inspiration is a funny thing, even though I think that I was quite an ugly baby ...

Anyway I went though a period where I drew a lot of kids faces.

I haven't seen the movie at all.  A friend got me the book, and it's about a girl with blonde hair who has a monkey (it's a lot more complicated than that, really, but that covers the parts that your picture reminds me of).  In the first book, I think she's about 10, though, so this would theoretically be a picture from much earlier in her life.

Those are darling! I love the second one. They remind me of vintage illustrations I've seen.

these actually do look creepy to me, but that's not a bad thing!  I love the creepy, so please don't take it the wrong way, I really enjoy these drawings.
