I really want to make a nursing cover to have while at church. The only tutorials I have been able to find are for these square things that hang from you neck but I really want something that wraps around. But I can't get my brain working on how to make one. Any ideas?

Are you looking for something like Hooter Hiders?  http://www.bebeaulait.com/index.php

They seem like just a square piece of material with an apron neck strap type of thing.  Someone told me that they use gallon ice cream bucket handles for the plastic boning around the neck for the gape.

no. I'm looking for something that is not the small square thing. I want more of a shawl type thing.

I don't know if you crochet, but I'd Imagine you could maybe figure something out to suit your craft of choice....

I have been looking for something too. I fell in love with this one  http://www.embellishedmom.com/ldb-clay-gray.html
but I don't want to buy it when it would be so simple to make. i just need a pattern!

In your last link, I don't see how the nursing poncho is anything different than just a regular poncho.. maybe you could just get a regular poncho pattern and use that? Or is there something I'm not seeing, maybe a larger neck?
Also, what kind of pattern do you need? do you sew/knit/crochet...?

Looks to me like its a large rectangle with the neck being a bit larger than you would want for a poncho-to see the baby.
