Sewing classes in South Florida???

Hi Everyone,
I live in South Florida and i can not find anywhere to get sewing lessons. I am a beginner and have sewn very little. I just got my machine on 7/5/08 and that same weekend made 4 pillows and thats about the only sewing experience i have. Yesterday i went out and bought some fabric and a pattern. I already started following the directions and cutting out the pattern and pinning it to the fabric. But i would love to have some formal classes. So if anyone that views this and lives in South Florida please let me know if you know someone or some place that gives lessons. Thank you.

I know this post is really old but in case anyone else was wondering my teacher has her own store in the Ft. Lauderdale area where she also gives sewing lessons.  I think it's really overpriced but if you had the money and were desperate to learn this is the website http://www.sassybb.com/sewing_classes.

I just started taking sewing classes at SassyBB in Fort Lauderdale and I absolutely love it! The teacher is amazing and makes sewing seem really easy. For the amount that I'm learning, the prices are great. Since the classes are private lessons, I get to arrange my lessons around my schedule and ask a million questions. I thought about going to college for fashion, but I'll be able to launch my fashion line by taking classes at SassyBB.

I learned how to sew with Cindy at Learn 2 Sew in Hollywood. She is a very gifted patient teacher. You will learn a lot with her. I didn't have to make a skirt or apron. I was allowed to make anything I wanted. I made my daughter a dress since I want to do this as a business making children clothing. Cindy gave me all the knowledge I needed from how to get my website started to advertising my business. She helped me on many different levels not only everything to do with sewing.

She makes it easy to attend by offering several classes a week. You make your own schedule to fit your lifestyle. She has morning and evening classes. I needed morning classes since my kids are in school. She only has 6 students in a class at a time. It isn't often she has a full class. There were times when I was her only student. She let's you either pay as you go or buy a package deal with very affordable prices.

Hi.  I'm new to this board.  I know your original post is old, but thought I'd post here if it would help you or any new sewers looking for classes.  I currently take classes through the Palm Beach County school system - the Community Educator.  I take the classes that are at Atlantic High School in Delray.  I really enjoy them, and the teacher is great.  Plus, the classes are very affordable, and they take sewers at all levels.
