Wow, these are all great dresses! I'm not familiar with the period, but I like the looks and your choice of colours and I admire how you tailored them to fit you perfectly. And I am so impressed with the corset! Whatever you say about it being so super easy to make, I don't believe a word of it :-)
But it is very inspiring, thank you for explaining how you made it. I will have to think this one over a lot. The hemp inlay is a fascinating idea.
If you make more clothing, especially the full skirt thing you threatened your husband with, please show it!

You have done a fantastic job on your outfits!  They look wonderfully done and period correct.

We live very close to a large Ren Faire in the US and go every year.  We usually end up buying a sword while we are there.   My hubby said if anything he would dress as a pirate, and I guess I wouldn't mind seeing him in one of those leather outfits.     One of these years I'll actually get on the ball and make us some outfits.  In the meantime I will dress up my kids.

Lol... I already demanded he was going to wear them. He's the one that got me into the SCA in the first place and I sort've chose my period to go along with his. I get halfway through making a few days worth of wardrobe for an event and he's like, "oh yeah, I think I'm going to do Crusades now....".

I insisted that if he ever wanted me to sew him ANYTHING ever again he'd wear the skirt and hose.

So it was a mixture of a guilt trip and blackmail.

guilt trips don't really work for mine, he was a crusader when we met and it hasn't changed.  Getting him into a doublet required massive bribery.

the sad thing is he Owns a set of bicycling pants.  He just refuses to wear them for anything else.  The difference between those and tights is negligible...  he's just being stubborn.  that and he good at making me feel guilty for asking...

one of these days I'm going to '"forget" to pack his looser pants for a weekend....

Awesome! Both dresses are so pretty. I will need to try my hand at a similar corset. I am terrified. LOL
