These are so creative! My vote is for the walrus simply because it's so out there.

Aw - love them all, especially the wiggly little caterpillar.  This brings back memories of the fantastic terrariums we had when I was a kid, with ferns in - we called them bottle gardens.

OOOhhhh I love this! I wonder though is there any way to do this without the plant needing sun? Huh-not "sunless" just not needing a ton.

Yep. The moss actually shouldn't be in direct sunlight anyway because they'll dry up.

Thanks everyone for the comments!!  I think I'll keep the caterpiller and apples in the 2 jars for now and I'll definitely have to make more so the other guys have homes too.  If any of you end up making a terrarium, you should post the pics up here. I'd love to see them! Smiley

THey water themselves! Then they're the kind of plants I need!  Cheesy

I forgot all about how cool terrariums are & how easy they are to make!
My vote is for the apples ...but the walrus & octopus cracked me up! You should rotate the little whimsies with the seasons or something!

Thank you for sharing! Wink

I just read...moss likes indirect sunlight...so don't put them in the full sun on the windowsill ...or you'll bake it! Tongue

Will a terrarium work if its  "topless" ? Like if I put the moss in a jar without a lid?

Yep I've seen lidless terrariums. I think you just need to water them more often.  Moss doesn't need much watering to begin with though. Be careful not to overwater it.  This link has a little info on moss terrariums. Scroll down the page. http://bizarrelabs.com/plant1.htm
