Found this super quick, super easy recipe for bath jelly at craftbits.com and the girls and I decided to try it out, using bridal shower left-overs for containers with plastic spoons set inside for scooping out the jelly....my 16 year old son couldn't believe they wouldn't taste as good as they looked....his findings?  They were salty..... Wink

The flavors/smells are (back row, left/right) Rainforest, Tropical Rainforest, Citrus Cream; (front row, left/right) Jasmine and Sun-Kissed Raspberry.  I kept the colors light so they would resemble drinks but they really are darker than they appear.

Whoo-hoo, the younger kids were racing for the tub.......

Those are super cute! And they definitely still look like drinks. I like the idea of the spoon stuck in the middle too....it makes them more fun than if you just had to scoop out the jelly with your hands.

These look lovely! Do you know if they would work with vegetarian gelatin, maybe something like agar?

Happy crafting,

Those are so pretty! I have heard it before but still don't really know what bath jelly is/does. Is it foaming bubble bath?

My brother has tasted my concoctions a time or two (whipped shea butter does look an awful lot like cake frosting). Now he pointedly asks if it's food or soap before tasting anything I've made in the kitchen!

I have to agree with MareMare, what exactly are bath jelly's? I would think they work like bath salts, seeing as crazyred's son found they tasted salty.

They look really good, almost like really big jello shots! And the way you did the photography is neat, I like the fabric you used.

"Yea, so?"
"I don't know, just seems a little out of the ordinary"

LUSH is big on using vegetarian ingredients, and their jellies are made from carrageenan (derived from seaweed.)

Ooh! Thanks for that, I had a feeling it must be possible  Cheesy. Lush do have some lovely things, but they are too expensive for me to go there as much as I would like.
