I made this scene for an event for the online game Puzzle Pirates (www.puzzlepirates.com).  The challenge was to create a scene that showed the horrible Black Ship ("El Pollo Diablo") approaching - it appears in game to punish someone for being a bully.  It is inescapable, you can't fight it, and the 150 skeleton pirates onboard soon incapacitate your ship and take all your treasure and leave you to limp home in shame.  Smiley  (You may have to have played the game to actually have any interest in this - heheh.)

My entry won 2nd place!  Yay!  I won an in-game trinket.  Heh.  Man I'm such a dork.   Roll Eyes  (YAY! DORKS RULE!)

Here's my entry, of the Black Ship approaching a bully picking on a weak ship:

A Closeup of the Black Ship skellie cap'n:

Many more pictures, in progress shots, etc can be found in my photobucket album:

Heh, knickertwist, Puzzle Pirates is a "massively multi-player online role-playing game".

You can play it for free, even!  You only have to pay if you want to really get into playing, go do certain things.    You can try it out for free though.  ("The first one's free!")   Check it out at www.puzzlepirates.com.

It's like Lego Pirate World, really.  No blood, no gore, just lots of casual puzzles (things similar to bejeweled) and socializing and saying "Avast" and "Yarrrr!".  Smiley

And pet sheep!

Hee.

Puzzle Pirates!!!!!!!!!

Ahem. Sorry, but I love that game. I even subscribed at one point, though I was too poor to continue paying for it. Thank goodness some of it's free! Or it was the last I played...must check it out again tonight!!

Congratulations on winning 2nd place! You put a lot of work into it - and put in a lot of details, which makes something like that fun to look at closely. Smiley And the textures add something, too. Great work!

But we have flamethrowers. And what this indicates to me, it means that at some point, some person said to himself, "Gee, I sure would like to set those people on fire over there. But I'm way too far away to get the job done. If only I had something that would throw flame on them."
