Hubby has shrunk quite a bit and so his old too-large tees are being slowly recycled in clothes for my beaner!

This was my first attempt at making a dress from a tee

Here you can see the shoulder straps a bit better

I just love the "i heart destroy" - it totally fits her personality  Cheesy  And it wasn't too terribly hard to make, just had a fit with the gathering at the top (my thread kept breaking  Angry )

Any comments or critiques are welcome, thanks for looking!!

That's a cute dress. I'd love to try my hand at making something like this. Where did you get the pattern from?

Very cute recon!

When you said you had trouble with the gathering threads breaking.......Did you do a double line of basting?Huh  That always helps cause there's less stress on than if there's one thin string.

Wow, thanks you guys!

Oh, and about the thread breaking - I was using really cheep thread for just the basting/gathering part - so totally my fault, grrrrrrr!  Lesson learned on that  Tongue

But as for a pattern - I just made it up I guess.  I used the idea of how you make a skirt but added the shoulder straps.  I can go into more detail if anyone wants it.

Adorable dress, and the model too of course... I for one would love a little more info on how you did it, since you offered.
