Wow!!  It is ABSOLUTELY beautiful.
Anyone who criticizes it, especially if they're friends/family, is a mean person.  Sad

This is absolutely gorgeous. I wish I had one! I can't believe people said bad things about it. I saw it on the front page and got so excited. The colors are lovely and the work that must have gone into it is so well worth it. I LOVE it! Breathtaking. I would totally wear it all the time. I can't get over the wonderful colors and fabrics you've chosen. You should be so proud! Especially because some people (including myself, which makes me even more in awe) can't make their own clothes at all.

It's in my favorites now, so obviously, I think it's great!!   If they are people who do not craft, then what they have to say about crafting is necessarily from an uninformed point of view. Take it for what it's worth, compared to all the opinions of people who craft that have commented here.

I do know that it hurts when someone says, "why did you make that?" especially if you've spent a long time working on it, but if it makes you happy, then it is worth  the effort, even if you are the only one to appreciate it (and clearly, you're not).

I think this skirt would also be awesome in graduate shades of one color (light to dark blue), or graduations between shades (green to blue to purple, say).

Congratulations on finishing a major undertaking!

Where did all this fabric come from? I CAN'T have bought THAT much!

Wow, I can't understand why anyone wouldn't like this! It's beautiful... very pretty to look at! Just looking at it, I can see you put a lot of work into it. I love it!  Grin

You should be proud. Usually I hate patchwork skirts, but yours is gorgeous! You can see all the effort put into it. I love how full it is! I think that is what gives it great character. Good Job! Smiley

That skirt is stunning! I love patchwork skirts, and yours is truly a work of art! The colours, the ruffle, the beautiful fullness - it is hippy couture!
Don't allow anyone to make you think it was a fruitless labour - you created an original masterpiece which may be misunderstood by people who shop at the GAP.
I personally will be clicking THIS ROCKS because not only do I love the skirt, but I can appreciate the love and hours of labour that went into its creation - I wish I had the patience for such a project!
