hey there

So i bought this purse at salvation army for a dollar. The front flap on it is the part that i would like to paint. It is made out of some sort of pleathery material. Is it possible to paint on this kind of material? If so what paints would i have to use. And is there any sort of special coating i could put on it so the paint will stay put? I have a really awesome idea for it i just am not sure about the paint. i hope someone will be able to answer this question.

This is the purse its self so ya can see what i mean..

Here is a close up of the material...don't know if it will be any help...

Anyone who can help me out with this i just wanna thank ya in advance. And of coarse once it is all painted up i'll post it on here for sure!  Grin

Thanks again!

are you sure it's not real leather?  some of those slinky metal (not sure of the proper term) purses are old, quality stuff.
if you put a bead of water on it and it sinks in, it's leather.  but if it doesn't, it might still be leather, just with a shinier coating.

well, anyway, any paint that works on plastic should work if it's really fake leather.  like, paint pens springs to mind...
if it's real leather, i have seen people use acrylic paints for that.
