I'm learning to make wire rings!

This one's made with czech glass flowers and seed beads

this one's got a glass bead in the middle and a swarovski head pin, wrapped in a piece of natural brass filigree:

Both are made with 18 and 22 gauge brass artistic wire
(I want/need a ring mandrel!!)

What do you think?

ETA: more! pictures!

i should clarify- it's brass colored artistic wire, not brass throughout
i have been getting most of my beading stuff at fusionbeads.com lately,
so, not to sound like a commercial but that's where the wire came from!

any chance of tute or direction of tute & tips used?

and also does the coloring/plating on the artistic wire chip when using pliers?

because I got some wire not 'artistic' at hobby lobby once and it chips course i'm using cheap swiss army pliers. and was curious if artistic wire would be better to give me the color without the chipping.

I really love the second ring... I would wear that, except I'd be worried that the ring part would pinch me.

Um, I'm sorry...did your first sentence read that you're learning to make wire rings?! It looks like you've been doing it for years-they're amazing!!  I am in love with the first one especially!  Beautiful!!!

Thank you  Cheesy

I could take pictures step by step the next time I make one, sure!
They're really not hard (and they'd be SO much easier with a ring mandrel)

The wire I'm using hasn't chipped in my experience. When you cut it, you can see on the tip of the cut end that the center is a coppery color. The chipping might be from the pliers you are using- are they flat, or do they have little teeth? Teeth could be marring the surface/taking off the brass-colored plate.

retromiad- exactly, they really don't pinch, but they do look a little sloppy on the actual _ring_ part. Seriously, a ring mandrel is in my future! haha

Fowds- blush blush! thank you Smiley

I made two more and added them to the original post (pink and lilac)
I have the stuff to make an orange and black set as well, but have to study first :-/

Sorry, I forgot to take pics in progress!
Next time!
