that is really cool...it almost makes it look like leather or something, with the lacing and all.

I just came across this.  Great patterns.  I made a bowl out of greeting cards.  The pattern I goit wasn't too exact but it did come out nice.  I might use these.

Ha!  I bought one of these at thrift store in MI while visiting my sister...it was covered in clear plastic and crocheted together...I now have the patterns and won't have to take it apart and put it back together again!  Thank you for posting those!  I thought of using contact paper for the covering, adhesive back and clear...I'll post pics if I get to one....if not it is on the list for crafting through next year!  I'm makin' one for my Mum, at the least...the vase for Mother's Day.  =]

I made this one for a friend using pages from a calendar:

Vintage Movie Poster Handkerchief Box - Upcycled Calendar Pages


It was a lot of fun! I can't wait to make another. My friend has a couple of vintage calendars from the '60s and one of Monet paintings that I am excited to use.
