i would be potentially interested in this swap, too, if it ever happens.  i am not exactly jewish but i have some jewish heritage (my mother's father) and was always drawn to / curious about the jewish cultures (sadly we never had much contact with that side of the family, though)

as a language nerd i have at different times tried to learn yiddish, ladino, and hebrew (without much success on the hebrew, and only a basic passive understanding of the others), and it would be fun to try something maybe with letterings...

these might get us thinking some meaningful things to make... although it's not all about history, of course.

OK, so I feel really bad.  I offered to organize this swap a couple of times last year, but I never actually got off my butt and started it up.  <hangs head in shame>  Embarrassed

Consensus seems to be, sign-ups late May / early June.  Any thoughts on how much to swap?  Personally I'm inclined to make this swap nice and easy... maybe a minimum of 1 large item, or the equivalent in medium/small items, and partners can mutually agree to send more than that.  And a nice long crafting time.  Sound good?

Shabbat Shalom, all. Wink

Beautiful stuff Nataluna - thanks for the link.

I'm always for swaps with a small number of requirements - time is always an issue around here.  (But I'm pretty flexible.)

It's not that I don't want to swap, it's that I often don't have time.  But feel free to ask (especially if it's one that's not too time consuming).

Let me also chime in for small-ish -- I have two babies and crafting time can be scarce.

I agree also, especially since it is hard to find Jewish themed craft patterns (for those of us who are not creative enough to design our own).

This site lists a lot of sources for Jewish-related quilting and embroidery patterns: http://www.pomegranateguild.org/favlinks.php
