I have been thinking about making some of these also. I make lunches the night before instead of the morning of. How fresh will the bread be? Maybe I can use a fabric with a really tight weave to hold in the freshness. Would that work?

Do we have any reviews on this yet?  I'm waiting to see if these really work before I make some for the kiddos.

I second and third the posts about requesting reviews... How was your sandwich??  And the bag looks so much nicer then anything you could find mass produced.

Knitting goal for 2011: knit 500,000 stitches.  24,078/500,000 knit.  I think I'm going to need more yarn...

The sandwich held up well with minimal dryness for a good three hours.  I have since purchased some PUL fabric for sandwich wraps and that works astonishingly well! No drying out of the bread at all for many hours. I still have more PUL, so I hope to be making more soon.

Does Joanne Fabrics sell pul?

Joanne's didn't even know what I was talking about when I called them. I ordered online. Most of the PUL outlets online also sell diaper making supplies I noticed.

As for a pattern, I used an octagon, though a circle works fine too, about 12 inches in diameter.

I've heard that Hancock Fabrics now carries PUL.  It's called "baby dry" if you have to ask for it.
