There is a book you should look into its called Jewelry from a tool box. the book is awesome . Since im a noob and i dont kow how to make my own beads i use washers and lug nuts alot . Give it a gander u may like it

ps the earrings are cool but i don't think i could handle the weight but yes  a bracelet or necklace seem like a cool idea

Im in NY No the wieght isnt a problem get the smaller washers i wear them all the time i even made an L bracket neckalce wtih hot pink neon string its really cool wat you can make.
I even made studs using that lil lugnut thing with a pearl in the middle of it. those are my fav. Its not heavy stuff just dont go buying ginormous  tools.

Those are great!

You can get fender washers at the auto part store and they are much lighter.   Smiley  My husband went into the auto parts store for stuff and just so i didn't have to sit in the car i went in.

I started browsing for stuff to see if i could use anything and i found the washers. I came home and started drilling right away. lol They are still waiting to be beaded and attached to each other for a bracelet.

Haha, what a fun idea. I've also used washers (and other hardward-store stuff) in a load of craft projects. However, when using stuff like this in jewelry that is in prolonged contact with your skin, please make sure the washers you use are nickel-free - otherwise you might end up with a nasty allergy. :I
