Too many ideas too little time

This is my first finished project post so hopefully I am putting it in the right place.

I wish I had a pic of this lamp shade before I fixed it but I don't. It had completely fallen off its frame. So, I reattached it by basically sewing it back on with fishing line. I poked a row of holes around the top edge with a fondue fork Cheesy and sewed the fishing line through the holes. Then I decoupaged it with colored construction paper. Each side is totally different but I think its cool that way. Smiley This is my husband's bedside lamp so I did mine to match. None of the eight sides match though. I am mostly done but I want to add something on top of the paper to soften up the harshness a bit, I was almost thinking some sheer white fabric but I'm not sure. Any ideas? I am also going to finish up the edges better but I want to add whatever it is I'm going to add first. Sorry about the nightstand junk in the pic I forgot to move it.  Shocked
