I have been having so much fun embroidering on vintage slips lately! Here are 2 I recently finished.

Those are too cute!  Are you doing anything special to the back of the work to protect it?

No, but I am using knots and recommending hand washing. I think covering the back will make it too stiff and change the drape, and sewing something to cover it will show, I think they are fine uncovered, and no one will see the back normally.

i really love the deer one!

Thanks!!  Smiley

I love the clothes line shot.  Both are beautiful, but I <3 the deer one!

Did you draw the designs yourself?

I would almost hate to cover them up!  They remind me of the slips in movies where the young women are sitting on a porch fanning themselves, for all the world to see! ( I would wear them in my yard since privacy is not an issue!)

Gorgeous work!  The birds are beautiful!

No, I wish I could draw that well! I found the birds online, and the deer is from Aunt Martha.  Smiley

Thanks!! I think if you were pretty brave they could easily be worn as clothes - over leggings or with a shrug, for instance. I see girls on campus wearing a lot less! I like to cover a up a little more, too, though, when I was younger I would've worn them out!  Cheesy. I adore vintage slips, though - they are so Elizabeth Taylor in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!  Wink

batgirl,
I love Aunt Martha stuff.  Is the deer still currently in print?  If so, do you know the name of the package that included your deer?
