 Smiley

I didn't see an animals board. I made these for our dogs and they LOOOOVED them. I put some in a KONG ball and they chased it around the house for hours. Our American bulldog is allergic to wheat so these are perfect, I had a hard time finding the oat flour at the regular grocery store, but I found it at whole foods.

Wheat free Dog biscuits

2 cups oat flour (plus some for rolling)
1/2 cup oat bran
1/2 cup oatmeal
2/3 cup either veggie, chicken or beef broth (I didnt have broth, so I mixed a beef bullion and 2/3 cup of water ,make sure you let it cool so it doesn't cook the egg)
6 tablespoons veggie oil (I used olive oil)
1 egg
3 tablespoons honey
Optional grated carrots, parsley, cheese, or peanut butter whatever your dog likes (I used peanut butter)

1. Preheat your oven to 350
2. In a large bowl beat the egg. Add the oil and the honey mix well.
3. Add the broth and optional peanut butter, carrots, parsley or cheese
4. Add the dry ingredients
5. Roll onto floured board to 1/2" thick
6. Cut into shapes
7. Bake for 20 minutes, let them cool for 10 minutes and CAREFULLY flip over (they are very breakable)
8. Bake for 10 more minutes, turn off the oven and leave them in there till they are cool and dry
9. Watch your dog sit, then shake, and smile!

I hope your dogs love these as much as mine did. You can substitute wheat flour for the oat flour if it doesn't make your dog sick. My dog breaks out in hives and gets super itchy from just one bite of anything with wheat, so I checked all the ingredients to make sure that they wouldn't have ANY wheat in them.

Wonderful idea! I'm actually making my dog a birthday cake next month Smiley There's a few neat recipes floating around the web. I like the idea of havng a pet treat recipe section. I'd much rather make his biscuits and treats then buy the crap they sell at the stores. Most of the store bought treats have corn, wheat, or some kind of "Meal" as the first few incredients - most dogs are allergic to all of the above in some form or another - so sad Sad

I am new to Craftster and just found this. Thank you for posting the recipe as dog treats are so expensive and with 4 dogs it can get very expensive to buy treats all the time. Plus you just don't know exactly what they are getting. It would be nice to have an animal or pet board for treats, toys and all.

I will definitely have to try this. I bet my dog would love them!
