I was not going to click the link. Thinking "How cool can you make a fork"? Wow that is awesome. Never thought a fork could be so cool.

I love silverware jewelry too! How did you get the tines to bend like they are? I've tried it before and I can only get it to bend a little, not nearly the amount that you did.

Great job!  Cheesy

Really fun idea!
You could use the hole in the scarab; maybe put a wire through it and wrap both ends around the fork, or put in an eye pin, make loops at both ends, and dangle something from them...

Thank you all again for your comments! I'm really glad you like my work! Cheesy

I love silverware jewelry too! How did you get the tines to bend like they are? I've tried it before and I can only get it to bend a little, not nearly the amount that you did.

Bending the tines is quite simple if you use a tender silver or a fork made with soft metal. For this one in particular I used a steel fork that I leveled out with a hammer to make it completely flat. Than I used a pair of pincers to curl down the forks' tines. The metal got really hot and this helped me shaping it. To be honest this fork was not so soft.. in fact if you look carefully you can see that a tooth (the one that holds the bead) was broken... I have to think to an alternative method for hard steel!

Thank you so much for your advice! I thought of your first suggestion but I couldn't make it because the holes are not connected... there's not a unique hole that goes through the entire bead but there are two different holes.. mmm... I think that was a manufacturing defect.  Huh
Anyway, I have another scarab like this and I'll follow for sure your advice!:D
