So I purchased an Amy Butler pattern this weekend along with some fantastic fabric and made up this fun little bag.

It was fairly easy except I did get a bit confused with the handles and sewed them in between the lining and the bag the first time around.  Opps!  I opened it back up and fixed it with minimal damage.

I lined the bag with pink satin, which I think I'll avoid in the future.  It was really delicate and frayed quite a bit.  If anyone has any lining suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate them.   I'd also love to know about any other handbag patterns I should check out.  Next to shoes, handbags are my passion.

Hi Mrs-Roboto -- absolutely adorable! ... Unfortunately I'm not much good at sewing so can't give you any lining tips except to say there are some pretty good "fray-stop". or at least "fray-reduce"Smiley,  products  out there in the fabric/crafts stores. I know this only because I barely have patience enough to battle a needle or a machine & if I also have to battle the fabric I'm done right then & there, lol ... definitely need all the lil helpers I can get.

Thanks!  The bag measures 17" Wide by 7" Tall.  The fabric was purcashed at Stitches (http://www.stitchesseattle.com/) in Seattle. They are supposed to get their inventory up online fairly soon.

I am so investing in fray stop.
