Thanks everybody, and littlemiss83 I did hand draw them. I just had some pictures floating around in my head, I did the outlines in pencil, painted the colour blocks, then painted the black edgeing.

I'm fascinated by both the first and the last paintings...

Do you mind telling us how you got the two different looks to the text? In some places it looks like it's been painted over with an opaque paint (maybe thinned a little), while in some other places it looks like you used a clear stain of the same color, which makes the text as clear as can be...no wonder the earlier poster referred to a "bubble" effect.

I like the heart girl and the house one.  Very creative the background of the type definetly adds to the painting.

My favorite is the little house.  I'm a sucker for a little house.

So smart of you to check out what type of book you were picking before taking it home!  I'd've been so excited about free books that I could feel good about repurposing that I'd have not noticed they were inappropriate for my purposes until I was sitting down to use them.  Eek!

I was really pleased with how the bubble effect turned out, and it wsa actually really simple. To start with I just used a layer of slightly watered down white acrylic and painted over the entire page, except for the circles where the bubbles were. When that was completely dry I just painted the picture over the top like normal. The paint soaks into the paper a bit more where there is no white acrylic.
Hope that makes sence  Smiley

Oh, I love them all!  But especially the first and the flowers.  Smiley  I guess if I had to pick, I'd pick the flowers because I love the colors.

But they are all so great!  I wish I were so talented!  Smiley

So don't take anything for granted, stand outside in the rain. An excuse, you know I planned it. Every ending ends all the same...
