I just received a sewing machine earlier this year, so for my first ever sewing project I decided to try a Sewing for Dummies pattern. I don't know if it was just me or not, but after step 2, I was confused and frustrated because I had no idea what to do. I finished most of the bag the way I interpreted the instructions, and was having trouble sewing the bottom of the bag on. My neighbor sews a lot, so I brought it to her and I asked for help sewing the bottom on. It turned out that I had done the whole thing wrong, so I had to rip out all of the stitches and start over again. I would NOT recommend this pattern to beginners at all, for this instructions are hard to understand. I did turn out to be a really cute bag though, one it was done right.
