I had some leftover yarn and canvas. I saw this pattern as a rug. The pillow is 9" x 6"

Wow. I'm super impressed. That is the coolest needlepoint I think I've ever seen,  and I've been looking at alot of needlepoint work, cause I am working for a television show for DIY! Part of my job is actually to find different people interested in the needlearts who would like to be on television. I don't know if you or anyone else on the site are interested, but I really like needlepoint that is changing our typical ideas of what the artform is about, in other words, expanding the definition, translating the idea.

We're looking for groups of friends (online too) who are interested in showing people their art and the art community around them. And, from what i've seen of this website, there are so many talented people that would fit perfectly, this craft especially! So if you or anyone else you know who works along the lines of what i'm talking about are interested, please contact me for more info! I'd love to hear from you!

Thanks
Stacy

Thank you!

It is one of those things that was so simple and turned out well.

I am not sure if I would qualify for DIY. Needlework has been my closeted obsession for awhile now. Nobody knows I love yarn..... til now.

I have a question about finishing -- did you "block" it yourself? Did you sew it up into a pillow? Any advice on where I can learn to make my work into a pillow?

Thanks! I'm a huge fan of more graphic and colorful needlepoint, so I love your piece.

I made this pre sewing machine era. I cheated and got someone at the local cross stich store to sew it up for me. It only cost around $10 (piping, fabric, labor) and worth it because my sewing skills are marginal. After you spend so much time on some of this stuff ....

wow, that's great -- I've seen some really steep "finishing services" that make canvases into pillows but they're not at all affordable.
