my mom was here last week and asked if i could make here a tote/handbag. i started while she was here but decided to finish after she had left. (didn't like her looking over my shoulder). here it is in all it glory!

i got the fabric on the discount table for $10 for 2 yards (a steal for amy butler fabric.)

there were a lot of firsts in making this bag. it's the first time i've used piping. which turned out great. first slit pocket on the front and first time using batting. i think she'll be happy when she receives it.

thanks for looking!

Very nice job of matching the print on the pocket flap to the rest of the purse.  I'm sure your mother will be VERY happy with this.

Very pretty, I love the fabric. AND you did a great job because I didn't even notice that there was a pocket on there...I had to go back and look. How did you do the piping?!? I've never done it before...

Looks great, love the fabric!  Isn't it great when you try something for the first time and it actually works?!

You did an awesome job!  It looks professional.  I love how you matched up the fabric on the flap with the fabric on the bag.  Thanks for sharing!
