Happy Fibre Friday!
I only have a few this week. I spun up a set of batts from Hobbledehoy called Whoa Nelly!
I haven't had a chance to set the twist yet.

These are the batts

My pictures aren't great this morning Tongue but you get the idea Wink
3 oz, approx. 82 yds, 71 yds & 98 yds.

I need a jumbo flyer! My bobbins fill up way too fast.

Whoa, Nelly, check out that gorgeous yarn!   Cheesy

I haven't been spinning a whole heck of a lot because my weaving class is usurping all of my time after ye olde day job, but I did manage to spin one this week...also from stashed Hobbledehoy batts!  They are luscious...seriousl y, get your hands on some if you can...

Bloomtime  Merino, mohair, and bit o' sparkle, 115 yd., 3.4 oz.  I spun this one using the "knotty slub" technique, so that it resembles vines blooming with flowers.  I am loving the way it turned out!

Here's another pic of the skein hanging out by the creek:

wow, i love those colors Jadzy! I so covet hobbledehoys batts.

I have 2 this week, both corespun from my own batts.

Cosmic debris, Contains: Bamboo, Merino, Romney, silk, Border Leicester locks, Corriedale, Angora bunny fur, and angelina. Corespun on cotton crochet thread.
Has some nice felty nubbins spun in for extra texture.

and Mixtape, it has cassete tape, lace and sequins spun in. I think it has a very 80's feel.

Happy friday! Wink

This is most of what i've made since last time I posted here... there may be one or two repeats in that pile though Wink

I got a Babe Production DT wheel and I've been a spinning fool! They all have tags on them because I have a little spot in a Farmers Market.. although no one bought any yarn last week Sad maybe tomorrow they will!

I haven't posted in a fiber friday thread in a while, because I've been so busy with other things - but I do have some yarn to show this week:

Desert Blossom - organic cotton, bamboo, and hemp with cocoons of hemp & bamboo. The yarn will stripe randomly in sections of soft fluffy organic cotton and silky-smooth bamboo carded with hemp. I blended the bamboo with hemp myself...I love the way the two fibers interact! The bamboo softens the hemp a ton, and the hemp adds texture and backbone to the bamboo. Hemp is one of my new favorite fibers.

A big pile of patchwork yarn for a custom order - I'm kind of jealous!! I don't usually spin this much of a single dyelot/colorway. It's enough for a sweater or baby blanket, 1 1/2 lbs total.

And a pile of yarns that I spun during a two-day art yarn workshop with Jacey of Insubordiknit last weekend. I learned some new techniques and new ways to do old ones. Fun!

Noodle Princess, I'm swooning over both of those yarns!! Amazing!

I was in a colorful two-ply mood this week, and spun up one using scraps of hand dyed wool I had lying around (Space Journey):

and another was more deliberate, I plied several colors together and used sparkle in the colors of my vegetable garden, to create Veggie Patch:

*envious*  I promised the hubby that I wouldn't start anything new until all of my other projects (7 that I can think of  Roll Eyes) are finished...  Everyone's work is beautiful this week, hopefully I can get back in on this in a few weeks.  *sigh*

OMG Jadzy!  Get the jumbo flyer!  DO IT!  There is nothing more satisfying than maxing out a jumbo flier, winding off the yarn and counting out 200 yards of beefy yarn.  You really only need about two jumbo bobbins too.  I've found that two regular Ashford bobbins maxed out w/ singles will max out a jumbo bobbin when plied.

Also, I really love Space Journey, the Luned custom order and Cosmic Debris.  I really like space-themes. Wink

I've been trying to spin every night of the week, so I've had some solid yarn production lately!

"Love Me Tender", my first 100% bamboo yarn, from Whimzypinzy bamboo top.  The first of my Elvis-inspired yarns!  Plied with clear thread and some pink sequins:

Cloverfield, spun from two different rovings dyed by me- purple merino, and green falkland- this skein is ginormous:

Viva Las Vegas, another Elvis yarn, from Hobbledehoy batts, wrapped in gold thread with some gold sequins:

Monster Mash, from some Falkland roving I dyed- self striping, plied with black cotton thread:

And finally, June's SBS installment- I chose the purple black and green butterfly- this batt was dominantly green with a dark purple under-layer- this is just a simple chunky single:
