Who would've thunk that sugar wasn't vegan?  I knew that alot of candy wasn't vegan because if gelatin but I never would've guessed that sugar was another culprit! Shocked

Yep. Craziness. I learned it from Skinny Bitch. I LOVE that book.

Yay I'm joining the swap too.

I actually just recently learned that 95% of gelatin used in candy in the States is made from pig snouts. No more gummy worms for me Sad

man - who would have thunk sugar would not be vegan friendly? thanks for that info - and I am glad that I don't really like gummi worms or such so not going to think about how grossed out I am about pig snouts in candy...

I don't think pudding has gelatin in it.  Does it?

oh man - don't start me on hot dogs!

my grandpa used to be a truck driver and he would tell us kids what he saw get dumped in the "vat" at the factory, while we all were eating hot dogs with chili - uck!  Tongue

I was at least semi-vegetarian for a while after that, and even more so for a while in my twenties - but my body betrayed me. Hamburger called my name. sigh.  Roll Eyes

Now, my body betrays me again and I am not allowed to eat nuts, eggs, dairy products, fatty meats, etc, etc, etc - but have to eat something to get protein so ended up with a real high fish diet of late.

anyone got any good recipes for tuna that have no mayo or eggs or dairy in it?
