Last year I was volunteered by a teacher of mine to work as a caricature artist in our last art gallery/jazz festival event at school. The problem was that only about 20 people showed up, 13 or which were staff. So needless to say I didn't quite ahve much work to do (i.e. none what-so-ever). So I spoke to my teacher and demanded that I be in charge of organizing next year's art gallery/jazz festival event. So I have been doodling some layout ideas and such and have hit a bit of a block. I wanted to make this event really spectacular, being that it is the only classy event we have in our school. I wanted to make it a real black tie and LBD event. So any ideas?

Here's what I was thinking of so far:
-creating large white walls for flat art dispaly purposes (no idea how to yet)
-draping black fabric to cover the cafeteria walls
-having an art auction right outside the event (along with an overhead projector for optimal viewing)
-creating a standing eating area with raised tables for drinks and treats.
-selling books with photographs of all of the art pieces along with artist's comments.

And that's really all I have so far. Help  Sad Please ♥

maybe you should work on getting the word around.  make special flyers and announcements or something.

as far as ideas for the actual event you could get some neat music to play in the background.  maybe the staff could all dress a like some how to really keep it that much more formal.

sorry these ideas dont help that much but maybe they will get your mind rolling a little more.

An artist is someone who produces things that people don't need to have but that he - for some reason - thinks it would be a good idea to give them.   -Andy Warhol
