I don't think they've targeted Craftster specifically. We can actually tell if that's the case or not and it doesn't appear to be the case.

It's happening all over the place. And it sucks.

Crap! I hit reply to say that it had worked (I refreshed the page a lot and didn't see them anywhere) but when the reply page popped up so did the ads. All 4 that I see right now are for the "ballot" page.

Scratch that - just saw another one for the "schools" page!

I also just saw on this page that they have one with this address:

One more edit cause I forgot to add that I have not seen that particular address come up when I've clicked on the ads on Craftster.

Thanks, Leah, so much for trying to fix this - I guess it is a very emotional topic for so many people.  Obviously, both for and against.  I am just sorry everyone is getting bombarded with this.

Peace and LOVE.

It's still up there.  Thanks for trying so hard to fix it, but the ones that have already been listed still have not been blocked.  I found these just in the past few minutes:

The ones I've clicked on so far have taken me to:

Is there a way that you could block ads from this website and all of its subsidiary pages (i.e. anything that originates from www.protectmarriage.com/whatever/)

This whole thing really upsets me because it seems to have taken over the entire website.  Literally every craftster page I've seen today has had one or more of these Yes on Prop 8 ads.

I just noticed that when I click on them the first address that flashes in the address bar is not protectmarriage.com, it's something longer like the one calluna posted. It flashes so fast that I can't catch it before it changes. Maybe that's why blocking protectmarriage.com/______ isn't working.

Got it! Here it is:

And here's the other one:

I think you got the ones on the top, though I still see the sidebar ones.  Again, thank you, thank you for working on this!

i hate to suggest this, as it may take craftster revenue from ads away, but I run NoScript, (for firefox) as I was tired of seeing McCain/Palin ads all over the damn place, and I haven't seen a single one of these hateful, misleading ads pop up.  it turns off the "recent/hottest" images, but that's not a big deal.

Awesome, thanks for that, merricat17. I will have to put it to use before the next election! Now the ads look like they're back to normal, so either they only bought up "business hours" or Leah won the war against them!  Grin Yay Craftster-power!

I enjoy menstrual cramps more than I enjoy political campaigns, even when the campaigns are for things I like/support.

Cheers to Admin for trying to get rid of the Prop 8 ads, and cheers to everyone else for keeping focused on the matter at hand rather than having this from becoming a mudslinging free-for-all thread, as any mention of something political tends to become on the web.  Roll Eyes And thanks to all the Mods for keeping tabs on that, too.

I'm living/working in Yosemite Nat'l Park til further notice! Blogging about it here. No swapping for me, and minimal crafting time, for the coming months. Almost done with library school! That sums things up for now.

I don't think I could live w/o recent & hottest projects.  I NEED them. Cheesy
