Crap. They have text ad versions too!  Angry  Angry  Angry

Can you actually click on the ad (bleah!!!) next time and tell me exactly what URL it goes to? I put in ProtectMarriage.com as the URL to block but evidently that's not working.

I'm not in CA so I don't see these ads myself.

Thanks Leah for trying to fix this. what a pain... my personal opinions aside, this ad could definitely be misinterpreted as being supported by craftster just on the basis of it appearing on the website, and I know it would be hurtful to a lot of members if they didn't realize that it was beyond your control. I'm really happy that you have taken the time to answer this complaint and try to fix it. you're awesome Smiley

I haven't seen any others yet but I'll keep clicking to find out.

Yuck, what an awful thing to be greeted by today. And it is on every page I go to -- usually the Google ads randomize so even refreshing a page will bring up a different ad, but noooo, these folks must have bought up all the spaces for the day.  Angry

clicking on the actual title gives this url:
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/iclk?sa=l&ai=BU7T-EFgPSa7OOpq4qQONhbmfBJHDhoAB3cPe2gjAjbcBABABGAEg06P6ATgAUJeBt938_____wFgyeb6hsij9BmgAYO17O4DsgERd3d3LmNyYWZ0c3Rlci5vcme6AQoxMjB4NjAwX2FzyAEB2gE5aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jcmFmdHN0ZXIub3JnL2ZvcnVtL2luZGV4LnBocD90b3BpYz0yNTc2MDIuMzMwmAL6AcACAcgCy8G3CagDAcgDB-gDnALoA_wB9QMAAQAAiAQBkAQBmAQA&num=1&adurl=http://www.protectmarriage.com/schools/&client=ca-pub-9999222003724713&nm=11&nh=1&jca=9623

I am also troubled that "crafters" are assumed to be a good market for "anti-gay marriage" in the automated Googleverse. That isn't something Craftster has any role in, of course. I am curious whether these ads are showing up for Californians on other major craft sites but I'm in a hurry today so I can't check right now.
I will try to complain to Google later on today, if there's a means to do so. I think this might call for a civil rights craft-along, if nothing else! (Well, VOTE, if nothing else, and then craft! Even better: craft while you're waiting in line to vote.)

I don't think they've targeted Craftster specifically. We can actually tell if that's the case or not and it doesn't appear to be the case.

It's happening all over the place. And it sucks.

Crap! I hit reply to say that it had worked (I refreshed the page a lot and didn't see them anywhere) but when the reply page popped up so did the ads. All 4 that I see right now are for the "ballot" page.

Scratch that - just saw another one for the "schools" page!

I also just saw on this page that they have one with this address:

http://www.protectmarriage.com/four/

One more edit cause I forgot to add that I have not seen that particular address come up when I've clicked on the ads on Craftster.

Thanks, Leah, so much for trying to fix this - I guess it is a very emotional topic for so many people.  Obviously, both for and against.  I am just sorry everyone is getting bombarded with this.

Peace and LOVE.

It's still up there.  Thanks for trying so hard to fix it, but the ones that have already been listed still have not been blocked.  I found these just in the past few minutes:

The ones I've clicked on so far have taken me to:
www.protectmarriage.com/ballot/
www.protectmarriage.com/schools/

Is there a way that you could block ads from this website and all of its subsidiary pages (i.e. anything that originates from www.protectmarriage.com/whatever/)

This whole thing really upsets me because it seems to have taken over the entire website.  Literally every craftster page I've seen today has had one or more of these Yes on Prop 8 ads.

I just noticed that when I click on them the first address that flashes in the address bar is not protectmarriage.com, it's something longer like the one calluna posted. It flashes so fast that I can't catch it before it changes. Maybe that's why blocking protectmarriage.com/______ isn't working.

Got it! Here it is:

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/iclk?sa=l&ai=BFgmSDmcPScjqOKqkqAPt7OzbA5HDhoABqcLe2gjAjbcBABABGAEg06P6ATgAUJeBt938_____wFgyfb4hsijoBmgAYO17O4DsgERd3d3LmNyYWZ0c3Rlci5vcme6AQoxNjB4NjAwX2FzyAEB2gE9aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jcmFmdHN0ZXIub3JnL2ZvcnVtL2luZGV4LnBocD9hY3Rpb249dW5yZWFkcmVwbGllc5gC-gHAAgHIAsvBtwmoAwHIAwfoA5wC6AOmA-gDmgH1AwADAACIBAGQBAGYBAA&num=1&adurl=http://www.protectmarriage.com/schools/&client=ca-pub-9999222003724713&nm=2

And here's the other one:

http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/iclk?sa=l&ai=Bre54qGcPScvSCarKqgOo9NSJBJHDhoABxcbe2gjAjbcBABABGAEg06P6ATgAUMuR9uACYMn2-IbIo6AZoAGDtezuA7IBEXd3dy5jcmFmdHN0ZXIub3JnugEKMzAweDI1MF9hc8gBAdoBPWh0dHA6Ly93d3cuY3JhZnRzdGVyLm9yZy9mb3J1bS9pbmRleC5waHA_YWN0aW9uPXNob3dib29rbWFya3OYAvoBwAIByALLwbcJqAMByAMH6AOcAugDqwLoAxL1AwQDAACIBAGQBAGYBAA&num=1&adurl=http://www.protectmarriage.com/ballot/&client=ca-pub-9999222003724713&nm=2
