Sushi success!

Ah I'm a miso cheater....I get the packets from the Japanese markets.....and just add tofu and some seaweeds. I'm a cheater but I found one I like so why mess with it right

i've been craving sushi, too. that picture just increased by cravings 10 fold.
is it difficult making sushi? i've always wanted to try, but never knew where to start..

No it wasn't hard...it takes a bit of getting used to to know the right pressure to use and just how much to fill but all in all it is easy. making the sushi rice s the main part...it has to be sticky..and you have to not eat it all as your making it (i kinda have a weakness) All you need is the roll. just lay down the rice in a layer and add in your goodies and roll. It is hard to explain but I am sure there are you tube tuts out there to get an idea. (I just watch the guys at restaurants and that)

I do have to say that it is much easier then getting spring rolls wrapped right

Give it a try...even if it looks funky it will taste great!

SUSHI NOOb OVER HERE!!!

I want to try to make sushi so bad. After seeing this my tummy is growling. I am going to try tomorrow. But first I must figure out how...

How do you make the rice?
everyone says to do it in a rice cooker but I think my rice cooker is bunk or someting. Maybe I'm using the wrong kind or rice. Can I be using the wrong kind? Is there a wrong kind?   

What do you season the rice with? Do you add anything to make it stickier?

Any other tips any one has about making the rice, fillers, or whatever, it would be much appreciated!!!!

well you need a short grain rice...it is stickier. And then i make a rice vinegar and sugar mixture that you sprinkle over the cooked rice and let it absorbed. The fillings can be most anything you want.
I do make my rice in a rice cooker but you have to use the short grain.
