So first off, I'm thinking about entering a Dessert Off baking competition at my school this coming Thursday but can't think of what to make! I was considering trying my hand at the famous rainbow cheesecake, but was wondering if anyone had any other really great ideas/recipes. As far as I know, there's no rules or anything!

And because pictures make everything more fun, I made a Stargate cake 2 years ago ^_^

Oh dear lord, a stargate cake  Shocked

What are the criteria of this contest? For example, is it about presentation, taste, creativity, etc, or a little of everything?

I wish I knew  Grin The email I got, all it said was, "Great Prizes for the best dessert. Do you have what it takes?" Which really, isn't helpful at all...a bit frustrating actually. But as for myself, I'd like to do something more focused on taste and originality. Presentation is good, but I'm not all that artistic. I'm better at making up for the presentation with deliciousness!

That is utterly wonderful.  I'm sorry I can't help you with the dessert ideas.  Most of mine tend to be closely guarded family secrets.  Smiley  I love the cake though and am planning on borrowing the idea for my boyfriend's birthday.
