Does anyone out there know of any good resources for learning how to knit with wire?  (websites, books, etc.)  I saw some lovely knitted chokers and bracelets recently made from wire and beads and would love to try this...  Thanks!

Hi Gloriana,

I bought my sister a wire knitting book this past X-Mas--I think the title was actually "Knitting with Wire", or something as obvious.  It was a small paperback book which I got off amazon .com (type in - knitting with wire- on the search engine of the page).  Anyways, she said it was a good book to cover the basics, but some of the patterns were weird ( wire knitted baby booties for display?-I'm not kidding)  She did make some hip chokers though, and a knitted wire thing to hang over a vase which was also pretty cool.  hope this helps!
Cheers,
JUlie

from what I have read about the book, knitting with wire, it is mostly machine knitting patterns with a few hand knit ones thrown in. just fyi.

I actually purchased the book (Knitting With Wire by Nancie M. Wiseman). It's great and so much fun! It walks you through each project with step-by-step instruction, which I desparately need to get any project done correctly. She covers hand knitting, Viking knitting and machine knitting, so there's something for every level. I've mastered the hand knitting (my focus is on necklaces and bracelets), and am on to Viking knitting. I'd definately recommend the book. Just one word of caution: keep your tension light! It's waaay more interesting.   Cheesy
