I am knitting my first sweater, and I would like to make a small modification to the pattern, but I have no idea what do. So the sleeves of the sweater has 3/4" 2 by 2 ribbing and I want to increase the ribbing by 2 1/4" so the ribbing will = 3". So my question is do I shorten the sleeves and add the ribbing? Or am I far off base with that idea?

Thanks for all your help in advance, the all knowing knitting enthusiasts. Wink Cheesy Wink Grin Cheesy Grin Cheesy

your plan sounds about right to me. just make sure you are removing rows at the bottom end of the sleeve, not in the upper arm/sleeve cap, and preserve any increases (you might need to move them around a little).
