I guess that is redundant since a Mari is a ball. That is Japanese thread ball for anyone who doesn't know. Anyway, here are my first three efforts. The paterns are from the book "Japanese Temari" by Barbara B. Suess. This is a great beginers book that I picked up at the library.
I tried one many years ago after seing it on Carole Duvall but It wouldn't register in my silly putty brain. When I spotted this book, I decided to give it a go.




I posted the pictures in order that they were made. Hope you like em :0)

Those are lovely. I haven't seen Tamari in ages. like 15 years. I've wanted to make one since I first saw one. But I haven't done it yet. they are so beautiful.
