So, I saw a link on Craftzine, and came up with my own take on these. I've made 2 so far,

Great! what lovely colours - i really like the kitty material. Very cubic. It's not easy to keep them so square.

i have seen these machine sewn as well. I tried to make them myself but found after i "flipped" them inside out you could totally see where i sewed the hole shut!

any ideas on that!

I like your idea on sewing on the outside with the whip stitch (no fuss there!)

it's actually blanket stitch and i just tried to stay really close on the "axis" to keep it shut tightly. it's slightly messy but maybe a nice satin stitch will fix that, i hope. the next one and I'll know for sure!
after that, hexagons!
