made of: black caron simply soft; grey paton's classic merino. inspired by some scarves i saw on a blog that i read regularly but whose name i cannot remember--if you know what i'm talking about, or if it was you, let me know. i want to credit the person who came up with using two fibers--one that shrinks and one that doesn't (the blogger used merino and tencel, if i remember right)--to create this ruffled effect.

i really would like some feedback, please, even if it is negative.

That's pretty.  I like the ruffly effect.  It looks like it is really soft.  How long did it take to weave?

it is really soft--simply soft is heavenly after a trip through the washer and dryer.

i expected it to take a long time to weave, because i made it way longer than a normal scarf, to compensate for the ruffly take-in. but i also wove it very loosely, and so it only took a few hours--less, in fact, than a normal scarf does for me.

Wow it looks like you used much finer yarns than worsted weights.

Places on list to try.

Have you seen the scarfs that use the same technique but they use a pattern weave like m's and o's or a plaid?  It creates a cloth with bubbles.

i have seen those! unfortunately i can only (easily) do plain weave. however, i could do a shibori technique if i wanted bubbles. hmmm.
