Reality Bites, I have the teeth marks to prove it

I know it has been a while since I posted anything, and yes, I have been really busy. But this latest creation is just too cool not to mention. I have made my very own Han Solo in carbonite USB flash drive. I made a mold of a carbonite figure with some molding latex (i can't remember where I got it, but it is food grade, chocolate bar carbonite Han Solo anyone?)  Anyway, I made my mold, opened up a usb flash drive and inserted it into the mold. I acquired a melting pot recently and have been dying to try some utee casting. So I melted up some clear utee and a little darker utee for color (can't remember if it was hematite or something else). I melted and blended the mix, poured in the liquid and voila, instant Star Wars geekery. I tested the drive to make sure it works and it works great. And for an added bonus, the read/write light actually shines through the material. You can't see through it, but the light can shine out. Odd but a very cool unexpected bonus. I am such a geek and I am ok with that. Fire up the backpack jets, I'm outta here.

Ah, the internet. Where men are men, women are men, and children are police officers.

I wouldn't be surprised if you get a message from Geekcrafts.com to showcase your usb drive. It's so geek worthy!
