These came about from 2 different challenges--one was the "anything but paper" ATC swap here, and one was a challenge on an embroidery blog to either make a piece of graffiti using embroidery or make an embroidery inspired by graffiti.

The latter made me think of "Mr.Fangs", a graffiti character seen in various Atlanta locations.  I used to think of him as "that happy Pacman ghost" til I found out his real name.  I decided I wanted to embroider a tribute to Mr.Fangs and started collecting pictures.  Then I did the ATC swap and decided to make my tribute on small pieces of painted wood.  I still have future embroidery plans, but for now, heeeere's Mr. Fangs!

It seems as though Mr.Fangs' creator has not been making new ones, so the older ones are slowly disappearing as locations are painted over or torn down.  But seeing a new-to-me Mr.Fangs picture or rediscovering an old one always makes me happy.   All of my card images are based on an actual Mr.Fangs somewhere in Atlanta, with the same background color and character color (approximately).  If you look carefully at the Flickr photos linked below, you might be able to spot which ones I based my ATCs on!

For more info on the real Mr.Fangs check out www.mrfangs.com or the Mr.Fangs Flickr group (http://www.flickr.com/groups/mrfangs/pool/).
