This is something I've been working on for a while. I used a picture of my nieces and some pictures found on the web, to make a fair likeness of them. I colored it with crayon and set it. Then I embroidered it with dark brown. I turned the panel into a little doll quilt. I gave it to my sister-in-law this weekend, so I figure it's safe to post now.

Here's a peek at the backing and the little corner label.
(Sorry it was crazy early in the morning when I took the picture, so the colors are a bit blue.)

I'm not happy, I'm cheerful. There's a difference.

What a precious keepsake...lovely and sweet!  I haven't tried the crayon technique, but I'm tempted now.  It has a very AA Milne quality, very innocent and dreamy.

Love it!

Thanks so much!
Dawn Octopus- Aunty is "PLANNING" to make each of the girls their own for Christmas, but I have 5 nieces, so I'm not quite sure that will happen.
I'm currently working on ones of each of my 3 boys for myself.

That's really sweet! You did a great job (good luck with the Christmas quilts)!

I'm feeling lazy today, so I'll ask before I go looking: where do I find more information on the "crayon technique"?
