A sweet little girl named Adrienne needed a dress. Adrienne is my Grand-niece. Since her home was damaged in the floods that hurt the midwest USA, and in particular IOWA I felt that I had to do my part in helping her get things back to little girl normal as much as possible. So I looked through my fabric stash

I found pink and I found white. I found sequins and ribbon. And then I wondered what size to make it  . . . After all, Adrienne lives in a whole other State.  I guessed.  I emailed for measurements.  WHAT WOULD I SEW???  Well, I designed this.  I made the pattern up as I sewed.  The dress was mailed to her Friday.    She was selected as junior Rose Princess for the community Rose Parade.  These people are in the midst of destruction, but want to continue with their traditions.
. . . . Now I await the postal delivery, and hope it fits her.  As soon as they can, Adrienne's family will send me photos.  Let's hold our collective breath and cross all our fingers and toes!

that is a lovely story, and a beautiful dress!  Congratulations to her for being the Junior Rose Princess!  I'm sure the dress will fit, and she'll look beautiful!  I hit this rocks, because this does!

Thanks Byonic_girl.  I actually had a bit of anxiety once I stepped back and acknowledged there wasn't anything left to add.  I really enjoyed this one because of the colors, and my smug satisfaction that I had JUST ENOUGH material to pull off the look I pictured for her.  I can't wait to see photos of the little sweetie.

I just got an email that little Adrienne does fit it, and her Mommy promises pics.  Adrienne says she loves it so much she wants to get married in it.
