I am a new sewer. I'm trying to make a softie out of some cute thermal knit. I will admit I'm not great at using my sewing machine, but I'm getting so frustrated. How can I sew this stuff without it puckering and getting stretched weird?

Are you using a sewing machine needle that is specifically for knit material?  I started sewing with knit material a little over a year ago and my material was puckering too.  My mom has been a sewer since she was a teenager and told me that I needed a needle that was only for knit fabric.  I  got some and it made a world of difference when I sew with knit.

Presser foot adjustment is great with sewing knits too, stops puckering also. but not all sewing machines have that feature.
