I've picked a pattern and went to get fabric today.  Grin

I'm going to straighten up my craft space and start sometime between now and Monday. I have a hard time crafting when my hubby is home.  Tongue

I did some fabric shopping, but I'm not sure if I'm satisfied with it. I'm so disappointed with our local craft/fabric store, not so much because of the lack of choices but for the lack of patterns. They had one measly ol' Simplicity book, 'scuse me, 2 but the same one. Guess I'll be checking out Walmart (sigh...the one we have here is always icky). So anyway, I went ahead and bought the fabric thinking I'll pick up a pattern somewhere else, but now I'm thinking I should have waited to see the style I'm going to use and then take it from there. ARGH! I hate my indecision!

That said, I'm lovin' this swap already because I get to sew! I was going to swap for one of my vintage aprons but my partner is a "woman" like me (not a tiny wisp of a girl like some of you out there), so she deserves something made just for her. Already getting nervous...

I have found the perfect pattern, wooo hoooo!!! Still have to find the time to get the fabric and supplies, though. Hoping for today or tomorrow.

I know what you mean! If I want to do any crafting when mine is at home, I have to find him a project first...

hahahaha I read this and about fell out of my chair... so funny... looks like someone has been watching "to catch a predator" I wish my walmart had good fabric... they took almost 75% of it out... I guess not enough people in Orange County craft...

I also can't get fabric at WalMart where I live. I think they got rid of the fabric completely.

BrookOwens-If you haven't already, you should check out M&L fabrics in Anaheim. They have the biggest selection of vintage style fabrics that I ever seen. And, they have some many cool fabrics that are only $1 a yard. I am definitely doing my fabric shopping there.

oh goodie!!! I will have to check that out!!! thanks for the heads up... all our fabric stores around here are really sad and depressing.....

I finished my apron today and it is so cute if I do say so myself.  I think KimsCozyKichen is going to like it too.
I am going to enter it in the County Fair next weekend and then I will send it off hopefully with a blue ribbon from the fair.
