Homemade Shag Rug?

I am moving into my first apartment soon - and my bf and I have a red, white and black room design.

I love to crochet but have a ton if black yarn left-and want to make a shag rug for the bedroom...(no pun intended for you brits!)

ideas?

There a couple of ways to do this if you are still planning to make the rug. One is to crohet loops into alternating rows.  You can look up patterns on the web or fine the loop stitch in crochet books. I haven't done this one yet but plan to....along with my other projects! LOL!

There is also a way to do it with a loom. I saw it on Bella once. Another one of my future projects! LOL!
